Rules in the park

  • Consumer fireworks, drones and charcoal grills are banned at the Wills Park show.
  • Small propane grills are allowed with an approved permit. In 2026 the city capped grill permits at the first 50 applicants. The application and the city’s policy on grills in parks are on the city’s grill permit form.

Parking

In 2026 every main lot at Wills Park was open until full:

  • Wacky World at Wills Park
  • Wills Park Recreation Center
  • Wills Park Equestrian Center
  • Alpharetta Community Center, 175 Roswell St.

Road closures

In 2026 these roads closed at 4 p.m. until the end of the show, with detours and public safety officers on hand:

  • Old Milton Parkway from Wills Road to state Route 9
  • Wills Road from Old Milton Parkway to state Route 9

Expect the same pattern in 2027 unless the city says otherwise. Our road construction and closures guide carries the closure list once it is posted.

Downtown on July 3

The 2026 concert and drone show were on the Town Green at Alpharetta City Center, next to City Hall. The city asked people to bring blankets and chairs. It billed the evening as part of the celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, so it may not return in the same form.

Fireworks at home

The ban on consumer fireworks applies inside Wills Park during the show. For using consumer fireworks at your own home, Georgia law and the city’s ordinances set the rules, including hours and noise limits. Call the Alpharetta Fire Marshal’s Office at 678-297-6272 before you light anything, and check the city’s Code of Ordinances.

If a pet runs off

The city says loose dogs in Alpharetta are handled by Fulton County Animal Control, 404-613-0358.
