Alpharetta Now covers Alpharetta and the surrounding parts of Fulton County: city hall, schools, police and fire, real estate, high school sports, things to do and the practical information people here look up. We publish online only and the site is free to read.
Who edits it
EDITOR TO BE NAMED
Regional editor, Southeast
The Southeast regional editor for Southern Local Media's local news sites, responsible for Alpharetta and the other Southeast towns. Name, photo and biography are added when the editor is appointed; until then this page is a placeholder and the site does not go live.
Reporting is done from public records and official sources: city council agendas and minutes, police department releases and logs, the county recorder, the school district, the National Weather Service, the Census Bureau and the organizations we write about. Every story links to the record it came from so you can check it yourself.
How we are funded
Local businesses pay for sponsored posts, featured directory listings and newsletter sponsorships. Sponsored content is always labeled “Sponsored” above the headline, newsletter sponsors are labeled “Presented by,” and supplied releases run as “Press Release.” Advertisers have no say in news coverage. We do not run a paywall and we do not sell reader data.
Corrections
If we got something wrong, tell us at hello@alpharettanow.com. We correct errors in the story with a dated note at the foot of the page. We do not quietly rewrite. People named in police items can ask for an update through the removal and update route.
What we do not publish
- Mugshots or booking photos, in any circumstances.
- Names of juveniles, victims or witnesses.
- Court results, unless the department or the district attorney issued a release.
- Anonymous accusations, or anything we could not trace to a primary source.

Accessibility
