Alpharetta Now is published by Southern Local Media. This policy covers this website and its email newsletter. Last updated Oct. 3, 2026.

What we collect

• Website use. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Signals and advertising personalization are off, IP addresses are anonymized, and data is kept for two months. We do not use session recording, a Meta pixel or advertising trackers.
• Newsletter. When you sign up we store your email address and the newsletter you chose, and use it to send that newsletter and nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address. The sender’s postal address appears in every email, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires.
• Tips, photographs and submissions. When you email us or use a form, we keep what you sent so we can reply and, if you ask, keep your identity confidential.
• Advertisers. Business contact details and invoices for the work booked. Payments are handled by PayPal or our card processor; we never see or store card numbers.

Cookies

This site sets the Google Analytics cookie and nothing else. You can block it in your browser without losing any part of the site.

Your privacy choices

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that score. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser. To see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or opt out of any use of it, email hello@alpharettanow.com with “privacy request” in the subject. We answer within 45 days and tell you how to appeal if you disagree with the answer.

Residents of Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky and other states with consumer privacy laws have these rights in law; we apply them to every reader. Southern Local Media is operated from the United Kingdom and is also bound by the UK data protection law, which gives every reader the same rights.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Photographs of children are published only with the permission of a parent, carer, school or club.
