Coming to Alpharetta, from city filings: Giulia the Italian Bakery, Sapporo, BurgerFi, 7Brew Coffee and two animal hospitals. August to October 2026.

Last checked 2026-10-03. This is the first monthly roundup, covering filings from mid-August to Oct. 3, 2026. Every item comes from a City of Alpharetta public record, mostly the city’s public hearing cases, which list alcohol license applications, design reviews and zoning requests. An application is not an opening: we list what has been filed or approved and say which. The roundup is rebuilt each month.

City records often show a business on its way before it opens. Alcohol license applications, Design Review Board cases for new buildings and signs, and requests for uses that need a City Council vote, such as animal hospitals, are all posted on the city’s public hearings page.

Who to call

Restaurants and food: alcohol license applications

Sept. 24 Giulia the Italian Bakery 24 S. Main St. Beer and wine, on premises, Sunday sales

The city also posted an application from the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta North/Alpharetta, 4025 Windward Plaza, for beer, wine and liquor on premises, on Oct. 1. All four are listed on the public hearings page. The city’s new alcohol license page explains the process; a public hearing before the City Council is needed only in some cases, such as when the building has no permit yet.

How a business gets its license

Every business in the city needs a city Occupational Tax Certificate, the city’s business license, from its first day, according to the city’s business license page. A business moving into a new space, or changing the type of occupancy, also needs a fire inspection from the Fire Marshal’s Office before it opens. Inspections can be booked on city business days between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Restaurants also need a valid food service permit from the Fulton County Board of Health, which inspects them and posts the scores in a public database. See our restaurant inspection scores guide.

What this means for you

  • On South Main Street, Giulia the Italian Bakery has applied to serve beer and wine.
  • An animal hospital on Marietta Street needs Planning Commission and City Council hearings first; the first public meeting on it is Oct. 14.
  • If you own a new Alpharetta business, tell us; we list openings from the business’s own announcement and the city record.
