Using SNAP benefits

The city and the Alpharetta Business Association began accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits at the market in April 2025. How it works, from the market’s SNAP/EBT page:

  1. Go to the Alpharetta Business Association tent, No. 1, and swipe your EBT card.
  2. You receive wooden tokens in $1 and $5 amounts.
  3. Spend the tokens on eligible food at participating vendors. No tax is charged on eligible food, and no change is given for token purchases.
  4. Unspent tokens do not expire at the end of the day; bring them back on a later market day.

Eligible items include “eat it later” foods: whole produce; meat, poultry, fish and eggs; dairy; grains; and syrups, honey, oils and salsa. The market posts which SNAP vendors are there each week.

Roswell Farmers Market

About five miles from Alpharetta, the Roswell Farmers Market sets up behind Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St., Roswell, on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Its 2026 season runs April 18 to Oct. 31. Contact: info@roswellfarmersmarket.com. Source: the Roswell Farmers Market website.
